Research Opportunities for Students
Students conducting research with Dr. Drury can expect a vigorous 9 month experience grounded in applied exercise physiology. Variables such as oxygen consumption, lactate production, pain perception, muscle strength and power are quantified in an effort to investigate human performance. Students are involved with every aspect of the research process including: hypotheses development, literature review, data collection, data analysis and presentation. It is expected that all students who conduct research will present their findings at Sports Medicine conference. In many cases, the data collected is submitted for publication.
Although Dr. Drury has an eclectic research focus, most of the investigations conducted with students are in the areas of new fitness product analysis or issues surrounding dehydration prevention.
