The Gettysburg College Society of Physics Students (SPS) is open to anyone and everyone interested in physics, astronomy - or just plain curious about “how things work.” With the assistance of Faculty Advisor Dr. Jackie Milingo, SPS seeks to enhance the education of all its students, to entertain and motivate, as well as to offer a forum for the contributions that students make to each other, the College, the scientific community, and to society. Come join us! SPS works to bring guest speakers to campus to discuss current and continuing areas of interest; organizes visits to such places as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center; and serves as a place for students and faculty to come together informally to exchange ideas, get to know one another, and have some fun.
