Sight-singing will take place during the faculty interview portion. To submit a recording, students must apply first through the regular Gettysburg College application process. Students will then be able to upload their recordings to their application portal. For individual degree requirements, please see below.
Bachelor of Music in Performance
- Perform three songs of contrasting styles from the art song repertoire.
- At least one song should be in German, French, or Italian. One song should be in English.
- Memorization is required.
Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music Education, and Music Minor
- Perform two songs of contrasting styles from the art song repertoire.
- One song should be in German, French, or Italian. One song should be in English.
- The applicant may sing a third song from the Musical Theater repertoire if desired.
- Memorization is required.
Suggested Repertoire
Applicants are encouraged to select repertoire that demonstrates healthy vocal technique, communicative artistry, and musicianship. Art songs may be selected from the following list of suggested composers, in addition to others representative of this genre.
