FAFSA Simplification Updates

The 2024-2025 FAFSA is now open to complete at studentaid.gov

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has overhauled the 2024-2025 FAFSA to streamline the federal aid application process. Due to the December 31 delayed soft launch, our office has just started to receive summaries of FAFSA information. Please note the following updates:

  • ED has indicated that students may begin making FAFSA corrections after mid-April
  • Schools will receive updated FAFSA data of some records that were affected by processing errors or tax data discrepancies

We appreciate your patience as we begin to receive, process, and review the FAFSA data. Upon review, first year students will be notified if any changes are made to their financial aid package and the updated financial aid package will be available in their student portal. Continuing students will receive an email to confirm that we have received their FAFSA with financial aid packages being available in June.

Our office recognizes that some may experience technical issues completing and submitting the 2024-2025 FAFSA. If you are experiencing difficulty submitting your FAFSA, you will not be penalized or negatively impacted. We are monitoring known issues and staying informed of resolutions as they become available. You can view the latest status and report issues at studentaid.gov.
