Leadership & Service

At Gettysburg College, leadership and service are integrally related. You can’t do one without the other.

Our students are active participants in their communities—working on projects that make a real impact while also gaining valuable leadership skills.

Nothing sets academic learning on the path to meaningful action like hands-on, real-world experiences.

Each year, our motivated students contribute 30,000 hours of their time working with the homeless, mentoring at-risk youth, and actively building community. Those hours intersect with 1,000 leadership opportunities available to students on campus—experiences that are collaborative, inclusive, and inspire positive change.

From our distinctive programs like the Garthwait Leadership Center and the Center for Public Service to our specialized offerings—such as programs offered through our Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Initiative (E-SII)—you’ll have plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself, learn new ways of thinking, and unleash your potential.
