A special thank you

June 24, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to share news of our fundraising success for the 2023-24 fund year. Together, we achieved historic results, raising a one-year record total of $37.6 million in new gifts and commitments. This accomplishment is a testament to the incredible dedication and generosity of our alumni, parents, and friends, and the great work of our entire College Advancement team. Please know that your commitment to our mission and to our community has played a vital role in propelling our Strategic Direction forward.

The momentum behind our vision, Living Our Promise, is evident in these extraordinary results. This fundraising success not only further strengthens our financial footing, it also reaffirms our College community’s belief in a Gettysburg education—and the essential work we do here on behalf of our students.

Thank you for all you’ve done, and continue to do, in support of Gettysburg College. Take a moment to read my letter below for more details on our tremendous fundraising year!

With heartfelt thanks,

Bob

Dear Gettysburg Alumni,

As I reflect on the past academic year, I am deeply grateful for the many ways Gettysburg alumni, parents, and friends stepped forward to help our students. Whether that support took place through the dedicated efforts of our more than 400 volunteers or through a visit to a classroom, a conversation with a prospective student or an internship opportunity, our students benefited immeasurably from this meaningful engagement.

The commitment of the Gettysburg College community is further evident in this year’s historic fundraising results. I am delighted to recognize the generosity of more than 9,700 Gettysburgians who strengthened our student experience through their philanthropic support.

This support resulted in a record $37.6 million in new gifts and commitments during the 2023-24 fund year. $8.5 million was committed toward our endowment, including $3.7 million in scholarship support. Record totals for the Gettysburg Fund and Orange & Blue Club also contributed to these results: the Gettysburg Fund achieved $4.15 million, and the Orange & Blue Club reached $980,005.

It was an extraordinary year marked by momentum. Through volunteerism, engagement, and philanthropy, you touched countless lives and helped us deliver on our promise of A Consequential Education.

At a recent gathering of alumni earlier this month, I remarked that if we continue to choose each other and this community, I know there is nothing we cannot accomplish together. As we move forward in the early years of our comprehensive campaign, I am greatly encouraged by our alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends’ support of the priorities established in Living Our Promise—our new Strategic Direction. On behalf of our entire Gettysburg College community, thank you!

With gratitude,

Bob Iuliano
