There are many different opportunities for student to get involved within the Office of Student Activities & Greek Life (OSAGL). The positions and organizations listed below offer various programming, leadership development, and social enrichment opportunities.
Clubs & Organizations
There are over 120 active student organizations and clubs at Gettysburg College.
The Office of Student Activities and Greek Life supports clubs and organizations through a professional staff liaison model where each type of organization is given a point of contact that can provide more direct guidance and advisement to each group. In addition to the liaison model, student clubs and organizations are provided with resources to assist them in operating efficiently and effectively, such as leadership development trainings and asynchronous tutorials on our Student Engagement Platform, engageGettysburg.
College Panhellenic Association
The College Panhellenic Association (CPA) is the governing association of the 6 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities at Gettysburg College: Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, and Sigma Sigma Sigma.
It also currently serves as the governing association for the 2 National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) sororities at Gettysburg College: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
College Union Building (CUB) Information Desk
The CUB Information Desk is the central main switchboard and information center of the College and can be reached at 717.337.6300.
The CUB Desk is staffed by roughly 15 student employees who receive training on how to field questions for the institution, as well assist with small technical concerns and time-sensitive deliveries (flowers, fresh food, etc.) within the College Union Building.
Interfraternity Council
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing association for the 5 North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) fraternities at Gettysburg College (Alpha Chi Rho, Alpha Tau Omega, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Chi, and Sigma Nu), as well as Lambda Chi Alpha and Phi Delta Theta.
It also currently serves as the governing association for the College's National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Social Programming
The Office of Student Activities & Greek Life employs a staff of 9 student programmers who are responsible for creating and planning a majority of the large-scale social programming on campus. The student programmers provide a diverse range of programs for their peers, allowing the student body to connect socially, but also encouraging them to explore new and continued interests.
The student programmers facilitate annual programs, such as International Food Festival and Snowball, in addition to planning a wide variety of late-night programs, off-campus trips, and grab & go opportunities. Popular programs have included Pub Trivia, Build-a-Buddy, Succulent Planting, Day Trips to DC, and many, many more.
OSAGL is always looking for new and innovative ideas for campus programming! Students are more than welcome to provide suggestions to the student programmers and professional staff via the Suggest an Event form on engageGettysburg (login required).
Spectrum Yearbook
The Spectrum Yearbook staff gathers photographs, develops content, and creates the Spectrum yearbook every academic year. The staff uses computer programs to create pages as well as contribute photographs and write-ups.
Student Senate
The Student Senate of Gettysburg College is comprised of students that have been elected or appointed by their peers. Senate dedicates itself to the betterment of higher education and student life in the campus community, providing a representative, unifying, and responsible government for the student body.
Student Senate is advised by the Director of the Office of Student Activities & Greek Life and works closely with OSAGL during the establishment of new organizations, the re-registration of current organizations, and for the distribution of club and student organization funds.
